I bought this for my Mom (77 y/o and fairly smart). Puzzlers may find that the binding is a pain in the butt, though. She always complains that she can't find crossword puzzle books that are 'easy enough' for her 'to do'. Yet again, this one proved 'too hard'.I, however, think this book is just fine. Spiral-bound puzzle books are best. Look for those if you can find them.
Maybe 5" X 7". I've been used to a 8" X 10" sized USA Crossword puzzle book and looked forward to doing a puzzle each night. Very nice book, but a little disappointing. At our age the book is too hard to manage. The puzzles are just my personal level. This new USA Crossword puzzle book is much, much smaller. The picture in the ad seemed to be the same as my old book, but I guess I did not read the dimentions. Still the great challanging puzzles though.
These are very good to do in the book. The interactive feature clues you when you make a mistake so you can catch yourself before you are too far astray. I can do all days of the week with USA Puzzles.
However, the archiving of the puzzles is limited online for free. They do get more difficult as the week goes on but it is very gradual. You can also do the new ones on a daily basis online and for free.
They are challenging yet doable. So the book provides you with a mighty dose of 200 all at once. The difference between Monday's puzzle and Friday's is not as dramatic as that seen in the New York Times.
These are especially nice ones to play online. You can also turn this feature off if you want more of a challenge.
This puzzle book arrived in a 5"x7" format. It is easy to hold. The print is crystal clear. I am 100% satisfied with this product, and hope to find others like this rather than the magazine-sized versions.
This book is exactly what you think it will be; good puzzles, moderate difficulty. Great way to relax at the beach or kill time on a plane or other lengthy travel sojourn.
